Prayer Leader Guide
This is a guide / refresher on Prayer Leading.
Prayer Leading, as you probably already know, is the job of "leading" the group through "prayer."
That's pretty straight forward. Right?!
Parts of the Worship :
1. Prayer to Take Authority - Makes it so that the room we're in is a holy space and should be treated as such. It is also asking the Lord for protection, taking command of the spirits in the room. Also, we invoke the name of Jesus and the help of Mama Mary! Please have someone set to read this. INVOKING THE NAME OF JESUS & MAMA MARY.
2. Opening Prayer - The prayer in which we begin the worship. We ask God to keep us focused on the worship, to let everything go smoothly, to bless us, etc. Also, we pray that we may leave the world behind for a while and be here for Him and Him alone. This prayer set's the tone of the worship.
3. Holy Spirit - The prayer in which we ask the Holy Spirit to come down upon us. We pray that the Holy Spirit guide us during this worship and allow / help us to hear his word and put it to action.
4. Adoration - The prayer in which we say "I love you, Lord!". Not be confused with High Praise. (It's easier to explain in person. Please call or ask about this one. Sorry!)
5. Readings - The word of God! VERY IMPORTANT. Please have someone set to read these. NOTE: You, the prayer leader(s), don't HAVE to do that. You can read it on your own. Leader always does the gospel though.
6. Reflections - See help with reflections. If possible, Prayer Leaders should have one prepared.
7. Contrition - The prayer in which we ask the Lord to forgive our faults and failings. While we DO ask for forgiveness, we also ask for the strength to do better next time.
8. Love Offering - The prayer in which we ask God to take what we have to offer him. We give him our time, work, abilities, etc.(not necessarily money) Even if it's not much, we ask that he take what we give and make it beautiful for his purposes.
9. Thanksgiving - The prayer in which we thank God for all the gifts and blessing! Pretty straight forward! :)
10. Supplication - The prayer in which we exult Jesus. We say how great he is. How powerful he is. Not to be confused with adoration.
11. High Praise - The prayer in which we exult Jesus. We say how great he is. How powerful he is. How wonderful. How beautiful in everyday. This is all about HIM! No "us" involved. Not to be confused with Adoration. (It's easier to explain in person. Please call or ask about this one. Sorry!)
I apologize for the lack of... information. There is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more to talk about. For now... this is the best I can do. iAi
If you ever have any questions, though, feel free to contact me, Monica, the adults, etc.
Thanks & God Bless! <3
