Home of the Mother Summer Camp - Aug 4-10, 2013
Where will this take us?
It´s Brother Joseph Valle from the Servant Brothers of the Home of the Mother. I was a member of BLD youth until I entered in the religious life in 2008. I think I gave you my testimony a couple of months ago. We will do a summer camp in the north this year. The same camp where I recieved my conversion. We will do the Appalachian Long Trail in Vermont. One of our brother´s father will be our guide since he has gone on the trail many times. His name is Andrew Demasi. Our plan is to have a base camp in the trail and do day excursions to the mountain peaks. We hope to have a good place where the boys can also run and play.
The trail is free so the price will be low, $120 per child. It will be from the 4th of August, Sunday, until the 10th of August, Saturday, for boys ages 12 to 20. There can be 11 and 21 year olds but this camp is better suited for teenagers. In order to fund the camp, (flight tickets, gas, food etc) we would need at least 20 boys. There are various parents who are working with us, inviting boys they know. I have contacted Tita Karen Canillas and parents from Connecticut and New Hampshire who are close to the Home of the Mother. The set up of the camp will be just like the other camps we have done. Games, hikes, talks, mass, adoration, workshops, campfires, and possibly swimming every day. For us, what we really want is to introduce them to Jesus Christ truly present in the Eucharist. Once they find HIM, they will find the meaning of their lives and true happiness even in the midst of suffering. When they find Christ, they´ll find our Mother Mary too, which is a plus! There is something about being the wilderness where the boys open themselves to God´s grace and allows Him to do wonders in their lives.
We plan to fly to New Jersey on Saturday August 3rd and drive up to the site the next day. Therefore, anyone interested in coming can meet us at a point in New Jersey and we will take them from that point. We will also bring them back to that point the following week. We will also pass through Connecticut to pick up some boys from there.
I´m attaching a video of the camp we did last year in North Carolina to encourage those who are interested and photos of the trail (from google.)

They can send me an email ([email protected]) and I can give them information on how to register and how to pay. If they can contact me before June, so that we can get a gist of how many boys are coming and be able to
organize ourselves.
If you can invite some boys from BLD or other places, we would be very grateful. Thank you very much, God Bless,
Brother Joseph Valle SHM
